Victoria 3: Charters of Commerce is an add-on to the "grand strategy" game titled Victoria 3, originally released in 2022. We are dealing here with the so-called mechanics pack, which is an expansion focused on introducing new mechanics at the expense of limiting narrative content (this resulted in the lower price of the DLC). Paradox Development Studio, which created the base version of the game and earlier DLC's, is behind the development of this add-on.

New features in the expansion

Victoria 3: Charters of Commerce expands the trade system from the base version of the game, giving us four new elements at our disposal.

Company statutes

Statutes of companies that give selected entities an advantage over the competition are one of the key new features. We are talking about trade treaties (enabling international trade of goods), investment agreements (allowing for the establishment of regional headquarters and making foreign investments), colonial clauses (thanks to which companies can manage overseas areas), as well as industry permits (thanks to which individual entities can expand the scope of their activities, exploring new areas).

Monopolies

Additionally, the add-on provides the possibility of granting certain companies exclusive rights to produce selected goods, as well as increasing the efficiency of specified buildings.

Luxury goods

Companies achieving the greatest success can also produce the highest quality goods (like champagne, for example), which gives them an advantage over rivals.

Diplomatic treaties

The list of novelties is closed by diplomatic treaties, thanks to which we can sign trade agreements unfavorable to our partners, as well as impose on them limits related to colonization.
