Vostok Inc. for SWITCH, PC and etc. is a shoot'em up enriched with elements of the so-called clickers. The game was developed by an independent studio Nosebleed Interactive, which is popular mainly for the well-received The Hungry Horde.
The player is taken to distant future times and is placed on the shoes of a newly chosen chairperson of the titular company. Their mission is to gather a gigantic fortune, and this can be achieved through executing over 500 tasks placed in front of them.
The gameplay formula in Vostok Inc. for SWITCH, PC and etc. is based on two pillars. The first is constituted by exploring space from a top-down view. Aboard a spaceship, the player travels among 40 planets; on their way, the player encounters different threats, such as hostile vessels (apart from regular adversaries in large numbers, one encounters the powerful bosses from time to time) or asteroids. The player is not unarmed of course – initially, one uses laser cannons in battle, but over time, the player gains access to plenty of different weapons (such as rocket launchers or mines), as well as upgrades that increase one's potential in combat – those are created in the game's complex crafting system.
The strategic layer is the other core element the experience was based on. In order to get rich, it is necessary to land on planets and both terraform and colonize them – all of this is to begin the extraction of valuable resources. Alongside progression, the player's company gradually grows larger, which makes it necessary for the player to recruit new specialists for various branches of corporate activity. Nonetheless, as the chairperson, the player can get relaxed from time to time while experiencing one of thirteen, old-school mini-games inspired by hits released a few decades earlier – for example, a first-person shooter similar to the classic Doom.
Although the 2D visuals in Vostok Inc. for SWITCH, PC and etc. aren’y stunning, the soundtrack composed specifically for the game is an interesting element, as the tone of music gets adjusted to the situation on the screen in real time, thanks to an included mixer.

Game Ratings for Vostok Inc. Video Game.
Nintendo Insider: 7 / 10 by Alex Seedhouse
Your quest to become the filthy, stinking rich CEO of Vostok Inc. is an entertaining ride that’s never short on humour-laden dialogue. Using wormholes to warp to other solar systems lends constant surprise in the species that you encounter who will oppose your financial pursuits. It is the relentless grind that is ultimately the weak point, letting down the successes that the game scores in other areas.
God is a Geek: 6 / 10 by Chris White
Vostok Inc. is pretty good, but the grind does become frustrating; however, it's easier to put in short periods of time on the go, eventually leading you to amass that huge galactic empire, so the Switch is a very suitable host.
GameSpew: 5 / 10 by Chris McMullen
Stripped of the need to generate moolah, or injected with a heavier dose of strategy, Vostok Inc could be a stellar venture. But the bottom line is that this game's pockets of excellence are stifled by an awkward mechanic that turns your interstellar journey into an unappealing, pan-galactic grind.
