Therefore, we get a top-down shooter enriched by multiple tactical options. In order to clear the levels from various opponents the hero has to sneak, silently kill unaware enemies, and use cover. When it comes to open combat, he can use a wide arsenal of fire weapons and lethal gadgets (e.g. grenades). From time to time, the protagonist also fights with powerful bosses – winning against them usually requires adopting the right tactic. During them the player participates in open shootouts with enemies and he performs stealth missions. The action is presented with a third-person perspective – the first-person perspective is used only while precisely aiming. Because of that and the presence of a cover system, despite the large number of enemies the action is rather slow paced. As we play, we will explore the game's locations and use all kinds of customizable arms to eliminate hordes of enemies and powerful bosses. From time to time we will also take part in an interactive cut-scene. We cannot move freely around the locations, we can only move from one cover to another and shoot our enemies. Along with the missions, Overkill 3 offers a so-called Endless Mode where we have to stand against our enemies as long as possible and a two-player coop.
