This is a complete Ghostwire Tokyo game guide. It will help you understand the game's many unconventional gameplay mechanics, deal with supernatural opponents, complete all the main and side missions, and find all the secrets.

The first chapter of this guide focuses on the basics that will introduce you to the game world and explain the problem with ghosts that has affected the virtual Tokyo. We have focused on topics like combat and stealth, exploration and its limitations, character progression and unlocking new powers, absorbing spirits, or shops and traders.

Ghostwire Tokyo: Quick beginner's tips

Try to absorb all the ghosts you find using katashiro. Returning collected ghosts to the phone booths and sending them back gives you large amounts of XP and meika (currency). This way you can advance in the game much faster and get the currency to buy something in stores.
Do not avoid fighting opponents at all costs -defeating them gives you XP and lets you explore guarded locations. You don't have to fight the Visitors directly - you can be stealthily by using the bow and stealth executions called Quick Purge.
Clear the shrines by defeating nearby enemies and purifying 1 or more torii gates. By doing this, you can get rid of the deadly fog, earn unique rewards, unlock fast travel points and learn about new secrets and unique locations.
Do the side quests appearing on the world map on a regular basis. They usually have very valuable rewards, e.g. spirits you can absorb, meika or magatama. Thanks to this, you can better prepare for the next main story missions.
Remember to heal yourself - by default, the health bar doesn't regenerate automatically. You can have up to three different types of healing items and quickly use them by holding a single button. This lets you immediately resume combat.
Try to attack opponents one by one. In most situations, your goal will be to weaken the Visitor enough to make them reveal their core and capture them. If you leave a wounded opponent alone or fail to tear the core out, they may heal, making the fight unnecessarily longer.
Do not forget about exploring the rooftops. You can do this by finding "neutral" flying tengu creatures and pulling yourself to them with your grapple. You can find various rare or unique loot on the roofs. Rooftops and high shelves can also be good spots to start gliding.
