Age of Empires 4 With a Great Launch on Steam

Age of Empires 4 sparked a lot of interest among players. The title achieves excellent results on Steam.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Age of Empires 4 recorded a great debut on Steam;
  • At the peak moment of the day, the game was launched by almost 55 thousand people;
  • User reviews on Steam are mostly positive.

After 16 years since the release of the last game, we've finally seen the release of Age of Empires 4. Taking into account the reputation of the brand and the long break, it is not surprising that the game attracted tons of attention from the players. This can be seen, among other things, by the game's results on Steam, which - by the standards of the genre - are truly impressive.

According to data from SteamDB at the hottest moment of the game's launch day, Age of Empires 4 was played by over 54 thousand players on Steam. At the time of publication of this text there were 29,000 people in the game. It should be remembered that these numbers relate only to Steam and the game is also available through the Xbox Game Pass service.

The title enjoys a considerable interest, which certainly makes the creators happy. The game's popularity can be easily noticed on Twitch. Yesterday gameplays from AoE 4 were watched by over 100 thousand viewers at the same time.

Relic Entertainment's game can also boast very good reviews. Currently, 81% of user reviews on Steam are positive. Most people point to the well-designed single-player campaign and pleasant combat mechanics. Some complain about poor graphics and a small number of changes compared to the previous installments, but overall, the production of Relic Entertainment enjoys considerable recognition.
