Agony, a first-person survival horror game, announced

Agony, a first-person survival horror game, has been announced by Madmind Studio, a new development team from Poland.

Agony in a nutshell:
  • Developer: Madmind Studio
  • Genre: first-person survival horror
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XONE
  • Release date: Q1 2017

Madmind Studio—a recently established independent development studio from Poland—has announced their debut production, a first-person survival horror game called Agony. The game casts us in the role of a yet unknown protagonist (although we know that he is a historical character) who is trying to escape from the depths of hell. Suffering from amnesia, the hero has to explore the hellish environment and interact with other damned souls. What’s interesting, his unique abilities allow him to control the encountered characters to some extent and even possess lesser demons. It eventually turns out that the only way out of hell requires the protagonist to meet the mythical Red Goddess, apparently some sort of mistress of hell. We have to avoid confrontation and solve logic puzzles to regain memories and save our soul from eternal damnation.

Agony is set to launch in the first quarter of 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is being built on Unreal Engine 4 by the abovementioned Madmind Studio, a Polish development studio founded this year. Its employees have previously worked on such titles as Tom Clancy’s The Division, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, Enemy Front, and Real Boxing 2.

Be sure to check out the game’s intro posted above as well as a handful of screenshots down below (some of them are not exactly safe for work, mind you).
