Multiplayer and Coop in Alone in the Dark Explained

In upcoming Alone in the Dark, you play as one of the two characters – Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby. The presence of multiple protagonists could suggest that co-op will be available in the game. However, this is not true. The developers have prepared two single player stories.

In addition, the card on Steam informs that this is a single player game. This means that not only will there be no co-op available, but also there will be no multiplayer modes at all.

Keep in mind that developers from another studio were already looking to implement multiplayer into the franchise. The result was Alone in the Dark: Illumination, which offered coop for up to four people. The production from Pure FPS, however, turned out not to be the best and reviews to this day are overwhelmingly negative.
