Aloy Doesn't Have to Bend Down to Loot Now; Horizon Players Happy

Patch 1.09 for Horizon: Forbidden West, released last week, brought with it a handful of improvements, but the most important one in the eyes of players was noticed only recently - it makes collecting loot in the game faster.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. The latest patch for Horizon: Forbidden West brought a surprising change that was recently revealed;
  2. The update enables us to disable Aloy's item pick up animation, which significantly speeds up the looting process.

Last Wednesday saw the debut of update 1.09 for Horizon: Forbidden West. Changes contained in it include several fixes in the main and side quests, increased stability and elimination of various bugs.

And although it would seem that this is all the news in Forbidden West, nothing would be more misleading. Players found out about it on their own, after poking around a bit in the options and finding out that from now on looting can be much faster.

No bending - no hassle

Until now, to pick up something from the ground, Aloy had to bend down for every single item. Now, as it turns out, the game enables us to disable the pick up animation, as you can see in the video.

By disabling the animation, picking up loot from the ground becomes much faster and smoother. For those players who want to maintain the immersion level and actually bend down for every piece of wood or healing item, rest assured that disabling the animation is optional and can be used (or not) at will.

To add, disabling the animation also works when traveling on a mount and while swimming.

You can adjust the loot pickup in Options, as shown in the screenshot below:

Players have welcomed the change, given that item pick-up animations - no matter how short they are - can be tedious in the long run if you're lifting hundreds or thousands of items off the ground in the course of a game.

We wish all the pickers in Horizon: Forbidden West all good when collecting their gems, trinkets, and more.
