As soon as you connect to the Internet and want to play a public game with other people, you are endangered to stumble upon cheaters in your match. It doesn’t matter whether you are playing a triple A title or a small indie game. Multiplayer is always connected with people who would like to win no matter the cost. The situation is no different with BattleBit Remastered. How widespread is the cheaters issue in this title? Are the developers doing anything about it? Let’s find out.

Cheaters in BattleBit Remastered

There are mixed opinions about cheaters in BattleBit. Some players state that they see a cheater or two in every game while others claim that they haven’t seen a single one in tens or even hundreds of hours of gameplay.

It is hard to rely on fans’ statements when it comes to the number of people using cheats as people can get over sensitive while accusing others of unfair tactics. Without hard numbers from the developers, it is impossible to approximate how many players are cheating. Let’s not forget that BattleBit is a title with hundreds of people playing on the same map simultaneously. This alongside low time to kill and fast-paced gameplay can askew players’ view on how many cheaters there actually are.

With how many people play the game and how well the game is received on Steam (90% positive reviews out of almost 16,000 at the time of writing this article), we can safely assume that cheaters are not much of a problem in this title, at least now.

How BattleBit Remastered fights with cheaters

As already mentioned, every multiplayer title deals with cheaters. BattleBit developers are taking steps to counteract this behaviour by implementing anti-cheat systems. Currently the game uses Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) for this purpose, yet the developers are considering other options.

Obviously, BattleBit also relies on its fans to report mischievous behaviour. The game features public report system that allows players to mark others, whose actions are suspicious. It is possible to check specific player reports while accessing the lobby and clicking on their gamertag. There are fans who say that they feel uneasy about the fact that they have been reported by others, while being simply good in the game.

It's safe to say that developers are taking actions to reduce the number of cheaters as much as possible and will continue to do so in the future. They take the situation seriously, as they are probably aware that a game flooded with dishonest players is equal with popularity dip which eventually leads straight to the death of the title.
