Are You Missing Some of Music and Maximum Mike in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0? Make Sure One Option Is Turned Off

Otherwise, you may fall victim to a repetitive radio that you no longer want to listen to.

The September 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077 is considered by many to be one of the best things that could have happened to this game. With the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion, the update has transformed CD Projekt RED's latests creation into what it was meant to be from the start - an immersive futuristic RPG with a multitude of possibilities promised in the early stages of development.

As it often happens in life, not everything can go according to the fans' and developers' wishes. According to some players, one thing has changed for the worse - we are talking about the radio.

A radio that doesn't want to play

One of the Reddit forum users pointed out the problem of the radio in Cyberpunk 2077. As he explains, the music playing while driving stopped working as it should. Since the 2.0 update, the game loops several of the same tracks without any breaks from the hosts.

The only exception here is the Growl FM radio added with the DLC. The problem also concerns the radioport (i.e. the ability to listen to the radio outside the vehicle) and television (in which some channels have lost sound). According to the author of the post, these bugs deprive Cyberpunk of immersion.

I considered going back to 1.63 but after experiencing the gameplay improvements that were introduced after 2.0 first hand, I just can't. I love playing this game and it's genuinely way more fun to play than it used to be, but I really wish they would actually playtest these patches before releasing them.

What is the simple solution?

The first suggestion from the commenters was to turn on the copyrighted soundtrack. With patch 2.0, CD Projekt RED has made it possible to turn off songs during gameplay that could be muted in potential streams or videos - this feature can be found in the sound settings.

In this specific case, unfortunately, it turns out that digging through the options isn't enough, as the issue of disappearing hosts still remains. The problem is largely related to Phantom Liberty, which the author found out thanks to his own troubleshooting.

So basically, in order for the hosts to appear you have to finish the Voodoo Boys questline, and then get the phantom liberty call from Songbird. It sounds ridicilous I know, but for some reason starting the dlc seems to resurrect them.

It is therefore possible that the DLC is the source of the radio and television bugs. This is why Growl FM, introduced alongside it, was the only one that didn't face any issues. What is most interesting, the bug doesn't appear if, when starting a new game, we immediately jump to the Phantom Liberty storyline.
