Ranks of Team Working on Assassin's Creed to Increase by 40%

Ubisoft is focusing on the Assassin's Creed brand. The series about hooded assassins is about to be bolstered by hundreds of developers who will help work on numerous projects from this universe.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has conveyed that he intends to exploit the Assassin's Creed series even more intensively than before.

"As part of a progressive reallocation of resources we plan to increase the number of developers working on the Assassin's Creed brand by 40% in the coming years.

According to videogameschronicle.com, citing the words of Ubisoft's chief financial officer, Frédérick Duguet, about 2,000 people are currently working on all games in the series.

This means that in the near future the development teams creating game about the secret brotherhood will be boosted by about 800 new employees, who will be transferred from other projects of the French giant.

The decision to increase emphasis on the development of Assassin's Creed is motivated by the recent excellent results of the brand.

Indeed, Ubisoft's latest fiscal report shows that the series broke a record for the number of active users this year, and in turn, its latest installment, Valhalla, has generated 82% more revenue since its release in 2020 than did AC: Origins and 61% more than AC: Odyssey.

An army of people and multiple projects

While the aforementioned number of developers creating games within a single series may be shocking, it should be remembered that last year we learned that five games from the Assassin universe are in production, and rumors mention that there are plans for as many as 10 titles.

In addition to the fairly well-known - though not yet shown in action - Assassin's Creed: Mirage, which is set to debut this year, there are four confirmed projects in the pipeline, with code names:

According to the latest rumors, Assassin's Creed: Mirage will be released in October this year. The game will be available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, as well as on Amazon Luna streaming service.
