Astroneer - Where to Find Compound?

Compound is one of the most important and basic resources in Astroneer. Here you will learn where to find it or how to make it yourself.

Astroneer is a charming sandbox game that enables us to traverse a vast solar system encompassing seven planets and moons. As we visit successive globes, we learn their secrets, and - as in other games of this type - collect a ton of resources.

In turn, over time we will transform them into new items, tools and even vehicles. One of the key ingredients for making them is Compound. Here you will learn where to either find it or make it yourself.

Astroneer - natural sources of Compound

Compound is one of the basic and very useful resources. As a matter of fact, it is commonly found in natural deposits. Its sizable concentrations can be found on almost all planets (Tundra, for example, is an exception).

Compound deposits resemble peculiar gray-colored bubbles, which are gathered in larger groups. They are often found on the planet's surface, although they are also sometimes present in caves.

After finding a deposit, all you need to do is extract it using the Terrain Tool. This is probably the easiest way to collect this resource.

Astroneer - how to make Compound?

When you find Compound, it is worth investing in another way of acquiring this resource. Thanks to it, you will not have to explore large tracts of land in search of deposits.

All you have to do is build a tool called Soil Centrifuge. It will enable you to process soil into a variety of raw materials. Among them is Compound. You will be able to turn two canisters of soil into as many as eight units of the resource.

However, this is not the only way to obtain it. You can also purchase it. All you have to do is build a Trade Platform. Using it, you will be able to exchange Scrap for Compound at a rate of 1:2.
