Are you getting ready for another Baldur's playthrough? If so, don't forget to craft a certain weapon - it's very easy to miss it out.
In August, Baldur’s Gate 3 will be turning two – it may not seem like much, but it feels like the game has been with us for much longer. The world still has a vast amount of content to offer, which we might have somehow missed. This applies not only to the plot twists, but also to the variety of gear that Faerun offers - who hasn't lost a battle because of poor equipment?
Good preparation is the key to a successful Honor Mode run, where each failure ends for us with "end credits." One of the best weapons can be easily overlooked, so we're here to explain how to get the Mourning Frost.
You can find more useful information in our guide:
Mourning Frost is a very rare Quarterstaff that we can obtain already in Act 1. The issue is that the weapon is initially divided into three parts hidden in the Underdark, so first we need to find them all. Fortunately, the search should go smoothly.

The question is, what to do with the found fragments? It's very simple: just combine them together in the equipment. Looking into the character's inventory, hover over one of the elements and select the "Combine" option - this will open the item crafting window, to which you just need to add the remaining two elements of the Quarterstaff. Many players have no idea about this option and carry parts of the weapon with them until the end of the game without assembling them into one piece.

Mourning Frost is a great weapon for a wizard who uses ice spells. The cold damage caused by it inflicts additional damage points and can put the opponent into a "Chilled" condition. This makes the enemies even more susceptible to frost attacks. All of this combines perfectly with other equipment elements focused on cold damage.
Players recommend the staff as the perfect weapon for a mage or a wizard in an Honour Mode, especially because it's easy to find early in the game. So what? Have we convinced you to create a new character?
