PC gamers and PlayStation 5 owners have been playing Baldur's Gate III for a long time now. Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X console users, on the other hand, are still waiting for their version. We may have just learned its release date.

  1. Credible rumors have appeared online, according to which Baldur's Gate 3 will arrive on Xbox Series X/S on December 6 this year.
  2. The source of these reports is tipster eXtas1stv. He has a good reputation - he has previously reported on the release date of Forza Motorsport, which turned out to be true.
  3. Wanting to confirm these rumors, eXputer contacted its own sources connected with Larian. In doing so, the editors learned that December 6 is the real date, but the devs are still testing BG3's version for Microsoft consoles, so the date could still change, if any serious problems are discovered.

It is worth mentioning that a few days ago Larian head Swen Vincke assured that the release of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions is still planned for this year, although he was not ready to give any more specific date.

Recall that version 1.0 of Baldur's Gate 3 debuted on PC on August 3, this year - after nearly three years spent in early access. PlayStation 5 console owners, on the other hand, received their version on September 6.

The reason for the delayed release on Xbox consoles is the insufficient power of the XSS, which prevented the introduction of a split-screen cooperative mode. The problem was that Microsoft's policy is that each game must offer the same functionality on the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. In this case, however, it was ultimately decided to make an exception and the release for the weaker of the platforms will debut without this option, although it is hoped that it will be added in the future.
