Baldur's Gate 3's release date was displayed in a public place several years before the game's launch, but „no one found it”

Almost two years have passed since the release of Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian Studios' title has redefined expectations for role-playing games, and its success has resonated widely in the industry. However, it turns out that the release date of this hit was known long before the official announcement. Actually, it was publicly announced - but in such an unusual place that no one noticed it.

Michael "Cromwelp" Douse, the publishing director of Larian Studios, recently shared an interesting anecdote on X. Over five years ago, before the Covid-19 pandemic, Douse, under the influence of alcohol, was supposed to write the planned release date of Baldur's Gate 3 on a whiskey bottle in a bar.

As he pointed out, this unusual prank doesn't pose a legal threat precisely because it "didn't leak" the whole time. What's more. Douse suggested that he "could do it again." So, it's possible that somewhere in the world, in some pub, there's a bottle with the release date of the next Larian Studios project written on it.

Will there be a daredevil who will start a global investigation in search of the "bottle of truth"? We don't know this, but one thing is certain - Baldur’s Gate 3 has already made history, and Larian Studios is apparently preparing something equally ambitious.
