So far, a series of summer articles on Cities: Skylines 2 has given fans hope that quite a few features known from DLCs and mods for the first game will be coming to next installment However, I don't think anyone was deluding themselves that we would see all such changes. This is confirmed by a post from the developers, who suggest two changes that are unlikely to be included in the basic version of the second Cities: Skylines.

The message on X/Twitter appeared in response to a question from one user after the publication of the new video about the sound layer of CS 2. @MaesterWaffle asked if the game will see features from the Park Life DLC, or city rebuilding mods such as Move It or Prop Line Tool.

In response, Colossal Order said that "the team is focused on getting the game into players' hands, but is interested in fan comments regarding various features to be added in the future."

Such a statement suggests that such features will not appear in the premiere release of Cities: Skylines 2. True, this is not an indisputable confirmation. Nevertheless, a similar phrase has been used before in the context of the game's development after the debut.

From here we know that for release, CS 2 will also not see industrial fishing, among other things (via Global Esport News) and different station sizes.

Probably, some of the missing novelties will appear in DLCs, which - in the tradition of Paradox Interactive - will undoubtedly be numerous. At the same time, it should be remembered that DLC for the publisher's games is usually accompanied by free updates to the base game. In other words, there is a chance that at least some of the new options will be made available free of charge.

Premiere of Cities: Skylines 2 will take place on October 24. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be immediately available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass services.
