Batman: The Telltale Series to feature multiplayer

Batman: The Telltale Series is going to feature a multiplayer option called Crowd Play. This will allow bigger audiences to spectate your play and make suggestions on what decisions you should make.

Batman: The Telltale Series, as well as all future Telltale’s games, is going to feature multiplayer, reported ShackNews. Well, it’s not exactly multiplayer in the usual meaning of the word, but it still engages many people in a shared playthrough. Crowd Play, as the developers call it, is an optional feature that can be turned on at the beginning of the campaign to allow large audiences (from 2 up to 2,000+ people) spectate your playthrough live and let you know what decisions they would make. You can either prove your love to democracy and let the masses choose for you or leave the final say to yourself.

The idea was born from Telltale’s observation of their previous titles that several people would often gather around the screen and make suggestions on what the player should do. Crowd Play is supposed to enhance that interaction by enabling the audience to influence the playthrough – provided that this is really what you want when playing an adventure game. In order to add others to your story, you should allow Crowd Play and send an URL to people you want to invite. They can then open that URL on their stationary or mobile device and join the play.

Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 1 is coming out on August 2, 2016.
