Battalion 1944 will revisit World War 2.

After a host of games about modern conflicts is this finally the right time to bring back World War 2 as a main theme of shooters? A recent success of Battalion 1944 seems to prove it is. Less than a week ago British developer Bulkhead Interactive announced they are working on an Unreal 4-based WW2 FPS inspired by such cult titles as Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Call of Duty 2. Players’ response has been overwhelming – in just two days a Kickstarter campaign for Battalion 1944 reached its minimum funding goal of L100,000. Stretch goals will be revealed soon.

Battalion 1944 is going to focus on online experience, offering fast-paced infantry battles and skill-based, realistic combat (no special perks nor kill streaks, cosmetic unlocks only). Players will join platoons existing within larger battalions and compete with other clans in game ranks throughout several play modes. Battalion 1944 will first hit Steam Early Access probably in May 2017. Once the game is finished, its full version will appear on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
