Blackwood Crossing is an ambitious adventure game from former Disney Black Rock devs

Former Disney Black Rock devs, now indie studio PaperSeven, have announced Blackwood Crossing, a story-driven 3D adventure game. The project is slated for release on PC, XONE, and PS4 this year.

British indie studio PaperSeven – made up of former Disney Black Rock Studio developers and Oliver Reid-Smith, writer of The Room – are working on their first original project. It’s going to be a story-driven first-person adventure game called Blackwood Crossing. It will explore the relationship between orphaned siblings, Scarlett and Finn, as they are growing apart. The real adventure of the two starts when they cross paths with a mysterious character during a seemingly ordinary train ride. Blackwood Crossing has got an intriguing trailer, which you can watch below:

Alice Guy, co-founder of PaperSeven, said about the project:

This is our first original game since forming PaperSeven and we are immensely proud to be announcing it. There’s been some fantastic narrative adventure games coming out in recent times – we’re hoping to take a place at this table whilst offering something different to what’s come before. Blackwood Crossing is evidence of our desire to explore experiences with depth and meaning, and create characters that challenge the often clichéd gaming landscape.

Blackwood Crossing is going to be available on PC (Steam), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 later this year. Check out the game’s official website.
