Blackwood Expansion for ESO to Launch Mid-year

ZeniMax Online announced in a press release that the Blackwood expansion for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online will be released in early June, this year.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. Blackwood expansion for ESO will be released on June 1 / 8 (on PC / consoles);
  2. New locations, quests and companion system will appear in the game;
  3. In March we'll receive the Flames of Ambition DLC, serving as introduction to the storyline of Blackwood.

Developers at ZeniMax Online announced that the next major expansion for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online, titled Blackwood, will debut later this spring. The PC version will launch on June 1, while console players will have to wait seven days longer.

Blackwood will offer an extensive storyline, which should take about thirty hours to complete. The story will concern the conspiracy of the daedric prince Mehrunes Dagon known from The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (but it's worth remembering that the events presented in the game take place 800 years before those known from the fourth installment of TES).

We can also expect more locations (in addition to the Blackwood we'll go to the city of Leyawiin known from Oblivion and the Shadowfen swamps), many new side quests, improvements in gameplay and - what's interesting - the companion system. ESO will also add NPCs who will travel with the player across Tamriel.

Flames of Ambition DLC

That's not all, however. Earlier, on March 8 on PC and March 16 on consoles, another DLC with dungeons will be released, titled Flames of Ambition. It will be the first stage of the year-long storyline of titled Gates of Oblivion and the introduction to the aformentioned big expansion. In addition, we'll get to the place where we'll discover the intrigue of a daedric prince.

In turn, in the third quarter of the year - after the release of Blackwood - another DLC will appear, the action of which will take us to Mehrunes Dagon's personal domain, the Deadlands. It will be a dungeon crowning the entire extensive storyline planned for 2021. More information about it will be revealed at a later date.
