Resident Evil Village May Have Three Playable Characters

Interesting rumors appeared on the net, suggesting that Resident Evil Village will feature as much as three playable characters, including one female.

RUMORS CLAIM THE PLAYABLE CHARACTERS ARE:
  1. Ethan Winters;
  2. Chris Redfield;
  3. an unknown female.

Recently, we have been flooded with information regarding Resident Evil Village. The latest are the rumors suggesting that during the campaign we will control three characters. Their source is AestheticGamer, who has made a good name for himself when it comes to Capcom games.

So far, the only officially confirmed playable character is Ethan Winters, the main protagonist of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. The other is expected to be series veteran Chris Redfield. It's not a surprise, because he appears in RE Village trailers. However, in the game we are also supposed to control a yet unknown heroine. AestheticGamer has no information about her identity. It's not even entirely sure if she will really appear in the game. All he knows is that she was a playable character in earlier installments and to his knowledge that hasn't changed.

AestheticGamer claims that the sections with Chris will include combat. The character was a playable character in the Not a Hero expansion for the seventh installment. The DLC portrayed him as a much more efficient fighter than Ethan, which made sense since Redfield is an experienced mercenary with years of fighting monsters under his belt, while Winters is a mere civilian. So it will be interesting to see if the difference in training between these characters will also be reflected in the gameplay of Resident Evil Village .

It is worth reminding that a few days ago the game's demo called Maiden appeared on PlayStation 5. It does not contain combat and enables us to control a woman whose name is not revealed. The demo is a stand-alone story, which will not appear in the full version of the game. The adventure's finale is pretty definitive and suggests that we're unlikely to see this character in the future, but it might as well be a faint and the heroine will return in RE Village.

However, AestheticGamer's lack of certainty about the female character could also mean that Capcom abandoned the idea of playable sections from her perspective, and reworked the elements developed to this point into the standalone Maiden demo.

Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7, this year. The game will debut simultaneously on PC and PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
