Can you save during a mission in Broken Arrow campaign? Steel Balalaika's approach may disappoint you
Have you tried saving the game during a mission in Broken Arrow's campaign? After searching for a long time for such an option, you might be surprised by Steel Balalaika's approach.
Not everyone remembers the golden era of RTS games, but those of us who do, might have a lot of warm and nostalgic memories from that time. The genre has gone through many changes, though it is hard to introduce a lot of novelty to tactical gameplay, hence those productions slowly faded out in the history. Nowadays, however, they are somewhat reborn thanks to passionate studios. Recently, we were able to enjoy Tempest Rising, a spiritual successor to Command and Conquer series, and now, we can indulge ourselves in realistic wargame set in modern times – Broken Arrow. Warmly received by players, it is not without flaws, as some of us are puzzled by saving option during the campaign missions. Is it hidden somewhere? Has it been added by the creators at all? Let’s try to find the answer.
Saving during campaign missions in Broken Arrow
With more than a million players waiting, it shouldn’t be surprising that during Broken Arrow Advanced (Early) Access period, it gathered 31,000 fans, enjoying it at the same time. It is also possible that such numbers were a result of limited-time Vanguard Edition. With that much attention, many would expect a competent and accessible singleplayer campaign story. Sadly, there are some controversies regarding that, one of them is the lack of clear possibility to save during the missions. What’s going on?
You are not bad at finding things – Broken Arrow indeed does not allow for saving its state during campaign missions. This can be disappointing for many fans and is definitely not a very friendly approach for less experienced players. However, the fact that there is no such functionality yet doesn’t mean that it won’t be implemented later on. Steel Balalaika had some time to troll their fans, so they might have resources to put into adding save option to campaign missions.
Initially, there were no 1v1 and 2v2 skirmish modes in this production, but thanks to loud and clear feedback, the creators decided to add it to their title eventually. This is a great opportunity to step up and voice your opinion on the matter on one of the official medias of the game, like for example Discord server.
As the devs promise to add more factions and units to this production, Broken Arrow may become even more demanding. In case you have difficulties with getting on your feet early in the game, make sure that you are using the best possible deck, as it can affect your experience greatly. Have fun!
