CS2 Premier Season 3 is coming, but you’ll have to wait

It is hard to believe that the most popular, and the most played game on Steam started as a modification. Counter Strike’s legacy goes to the very beginning of Gabe Newel’s platform when it was still in its infancy. Its popularity is unwavering, and in fact it constantly grows, as millions of players (via SteamDB) are enjoying this legendary FPS daily. Just recently, the Premier Season 2 has ended in Counter Strike 2, and it’s no longer possible to play a match in this format. With such huge fanbase that this game has, many eager combatants have their fingers itching to start playing the next Premier Season, though thus far there is not that much information about it. That doesn't mean that there is none. Let’s try to establish what is known and when we can expect Premier Season 3 in CS2.
When can we expect Premier Season 3 in CS2?
Update: Season 3 is here. It brings some interesting changes. Overpass returned in place of Anubis. The most important change, which can have long term consequences, is Trade Protected Items, players are worried about it, and they gave reasons to do so. To learn all changes, check out patch notes.
It has become a new norm that long living, competitive online games are split into seasons, to freshen out the atmosphere and prevent stagnation on the leaderboards. This new opening allows everyone to have a chance at a top spot, plus some extra rewards. This relatively recent form of development in multiplayer titles has been also adapted by one of the oldest, still living, FPSes on the scene – Counter Strike 2. With the end of the previous season, many fans are wondering when the Premier Season 3 will begin.
The only official information (via X) that we have is that Premier Season 2 has finished, and the new one will be available soon. However, there is a dark, sneaky “TM” sign right after the word “soon” in the post. Many fans interpret it as “tomorrow.” Keep in mind the time zones, though. Theoretically, at the time of publishing this news, it is already tomorrow for Valve headquarter, as it is in Bellevue, Washington, United States. However, it's the middle of the night there.
Also, a reliable news outlet regarding CS2 states that Premier Season 3 won’t be released in the upcoming hours. It shouldn’t be surprising that some breathing room is required between the new seasons. Until it is released, though, it is a good chance to hone your skills.
Of course, we all are eagerly awaiting the third season, thus in order to stay updated, the best idea is to check already mentioned CS2’s X account. Additionally, keeping an eye out on the game’s Steam News Hub is also a good idea to stay informed. Till that time comes, however, it is recommended to get some rest to be ready for Premier Season 3 when it finally releases, and it might be sooner than you expect. Good luck!
