Cyberpunk 2077 - Launch Will Not be Delayed, Reassures CDP RED

CD Projekt RED announced that the release of Cyberpunk 2077 will not be delayed due to coronavirus. The developers will continue to work on the game from their own homes.

CD Projekt RED has switched to home office mode.

Due to coronavirus, the last days were filled with information about suspension of work on many projects and delays of others. CD Projekt RED decided to reassure fans by informing that the release of Cyberpunk 2077 will not be postponed to a later date and will take place as planned, in September this year.

In recent days, the threat of the COVID-19 disease has caused the studio to switch to home office mode so that employees can continue development from the safety of their homes. For this purpose, among others, the network infrastructure has been improved.

Among the entertainment media, the gaming industry is one of the best suited for remote working. Therefore, although some projects are likely to be delayed, the impact of coronavirus should be less than in the case of, for example, movies and TV shows, where it has become practically impossible to continue production.

Let us recall that initially Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be released in April this year, but the launch was eventually postponed to September 27. However, we will probably wait until 2022 for the multiplayer mode. The production will be released simultaneously on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

A few days ago, CD Projekt RED sent the game to age rating agencies, such as PEGI or ESRB, which means that the work is already finished.
