More Rumors About Cyberpunk 2077's Return to PS Store

Rumors about the return of Cyberpunk 2077 to PS Store have surfaced online. We decided to analyze this information and see if the game might actually be available again in digital distribution on PS4 and PS5.

As you all probably know, the release of Cyberpunk 2077 on last-gen consoles was quite problematic for CD Projekt RED. The poor technical condition caused the game to be pulled from PS Store. Since then, there have been regular rumors about the title's return to digital sales on PS4 and PS5. Now, these speculations have surged once again. All because of a post published on the PlayStation Game Size Twitter account, informing about the possibility of adding the game to our wishlist. Therefore, we decided to take a closer look at the situation and assess what are the chances of this happening.

Before writing this news, we asked CD Projekt RED for a comment on the matter. However, the company is unwilling to provide any information.

Voice of the community

There were comments under the aforementioned post, which indicate that the option to add the game to our wishlist has been active for a long time. Some of the people additionally pointed out that they had such an opportunity already after returning Cyberpunk 2077. Looking at the fact that the game was pulled from sale in mid-December, in extreme cases the game's card may have remained in such a state for almost seven months.

Ghost card in PS Store

The card for Cyberpunk 2077 is rather puzzling. If we use Google search, we can easily come across it. At the moment we decide to use PS Store directly, though, the situation gets complicated. In the browser version of the store we were unable to get to the desired page. However, the situation looks different on consoles and not in all cases the card is visible. This situation is illustrated by the following screenshots.

Additionally, even if we manage to Cyberpunk 2077's card it still looks incomplete. Among other things, it lacks information about language versions, upgrades for specific console models, disclaimers about PlayStation Network's terms of service, or the number of supported players. These details are usually visible in pre-orders as well.

No refund assistance for Cyberpunk 2077 returns

It would seem that Sony's decision to end its easy refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 is heralding the game's return to the PS Store. However, this is not necessarily true and should be taken into account. Such a move could result from two scenarios - either the return of CD Projekt RED's title to PS Store is actually being considered, or simply the scale of refunds has decreased.

A stir in the stock market

It is worth noting that rumors about Cyberpunk 2077's return to PS Store had a certain side effect. They resonated with investors, which can be seen in the stock market. Today, CD Projekt RED can boast of an increase in share prices, which resulted in the stock price exceeding around $53 (via Bankier.pl [in Polish]).

After analyzing all the information we can draw a conclusion, that not really changed much in the matter of Cyberpunk 2077's return to PS Store. The hidden PS Store tab and the talk of adding the game to our wishlist immediately upon refund do not suggest that the game's return to digital distribution on PS4 and PS5 is imminent.
