Death Stranding 2 with release date. Hideo Kojima shwocased long and crazy, but beautiful trailer
Yesterday's screening of Death Stranding 2 revealed the game's release date. Hideo Kojima's upcoming title will be released in the middle of this year.

At yesterday's SXSW 2025 show, Death Stranding 2 was presented. The upcoming game by Hideo Kojima received a new trailer and a release date - June 26, 2025. The presale will start on March 17th.
As befits a Kojima creations, the trailer is exceptionally cinematic and surreal. It touched upon, among other things, the topic of a pregnant woman with a dead brain. We also learned about a mysterious cult trying to destroy humanity and got to know the main characters appearing in the title. Of course, there were also lofty slogans: "It would be better if America had not united." Pathos is just pouring out of the screen. What catches the eye the most, however, are the huge creatures coming out of the water.
The trailer contains references to the iconic Metal Gear series. We see a figure there that closely resembles a snake.
However, a trailer isn't everything. During the presentation, we also found out the details of the presale. As I mentioned earlier, the game can be ordered from March 17th. Special bonuses have been prepared for those who buy it earlier.
Purchasers of the basic version priced at $69.99, will receive only three extra skeletons for the protagonist and a Quokka hologram.
Players who decide to purchase the Deluxe edition ($79.99) can count on the aforementioned elements, as well as three additional skeletons, patches, and early access to one of the weapons.
Of course, there was also a Collector's edition of Death Stranding 2 ($229.99). As you might expect, it offers access to bonuses from lower thresholds and physical gadgets:
- A 38-centimeter figurine of Magellan Man;
- letter from Hideo Kojima;
- cards;
- 7-centimeter Dollman figurine;
- Collector's box.
Furthermore, people who pre-order the Deluxe or Collector's edition can expect 48-hour early access to the game. This means that the title will become available to them from June 24th.
Death Stranding 2 will be a direct continuation of the 2019 title. We will once more track Sam's journey, as he chooses to keep uniting human settlements worldwide after bringing America together using the chiral network. This time his attention is focused on Mexico. As for the gameplay itself, it will be an open-world action game. Based on past reports, the entire thing is expected to be even more bizarre than original, and the trailer above appears to confirm this.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is heading to PS5 and PS5 Pro. It's also possible that, like the first installment, it may arrive on PC and Xbox Series X and S sometime after its release.
