Dreamfall: Chapters moved to Unity 5 – see screenshots
Dreamfall: Chapters went through a complete engine update – from Unity 4 to Unity 5. The results are better graphics and improved performance. The new version is available now on Steam.
Dreamfall: Chapters was successfully converted from Unity 4.6 to Unity 5.2 engine. The process was actually harder than Red Thread Games expected and costed the studio several hundred thousands of dollars, but the effects are worth it, says Ragnar Tornquist. The transition resulted in visibly enhanced graphics (which you can admire on the screenshots below), as well as improved stability and performance for most users (see patch 3.2.9 changelog) The updated version of Dreamfall: Chapters is available now to all players on Steam.
Right now artists are still tweaking some visual effects, including lighting, so the final results should be even better. In the meantime, we are still waiting for the release of Book Four: Revelations. Back in October it was delayed due to the engine update. Now that the transition is complete we can expect the episode 4 to arrive very soon.
