Dreamfall Chapters developers are working on new projects

“We’re working on several new role-playing adventure games in exciting new universes”, Red Thread Games informed via Facebook, and – bearing in mind these are the guys who managed to conjure up Dreamfall Chapters – it should be enough to make all the adventurers out there lick their chops. Whether it means that Draugen’s development is coming along, or indicates that a brand new title is in the works, hiring fresh staff is always a sign of progress. Could it be that Red Thread didn’t give up on Zoë’s story just yet and are planning on contriving a continuation?

Although undoubtedly magical, Dreamfall Chapters failed to outrun its predecessor.

“A new beginning” is more likely an answer, for Chapters’ overall perception – when it comes to comparing it with The Longest Journey – was rather a disappointment; not only has the episodic journey failed to gain an overwhelming amount of attention, but it also wasn’t that successful in terms of reviews, ending up abandoned with a pretty mixed metascore. This, in turn, formed some obstacles that made the series’ future uncertain – and if there’s anyone who has anything to say about whens and whats, it’s certainly not Red Thread Games. Is the Dream about to Fall, we shall find out – somewhen.
