Dying Light developers will help create Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer

Multiplayer mode is making its way to Cyberpunk 2077, CD Project Red's upcoming sci-fi RPG. But The Witcher creators will not be the only ones working on it.

Upgrade type: multiplayer.

CD Project Red (CDPR) announced that they are now partners with Digital Scapes, the developers of the PvP mode to Dying Light. The focus of this new partnership is CDPR's latest major project: Cyberpunk 2077.

That clearly indicates that the highly-anticipated sci-fi RPG – bigger and better than The Witcher 3 – will have a multiplayer mode. And although singleplayer will not be leaving the spotlight for a long time, no doubt, multiplayer is likely to make it to the game sometime after launch.

They worked at Bioware, Radical and Relic

Digital Scapes consist of developers who used to work at Bioware, Radical Entertainment and Relic. The studio helped to develop games such as Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40k, Dying Light and Prototype. Marcin Chady, studio director for Digital Scapes, is looking forward to taking advantage of the deal the teams sealed.

We are excited and honored to be working with CD Project Red. Their incredibly creative and successful team of developers has taken story-driven role-playing games to unprecedented levels. We look forward to helping them develop the best video game the industry has seen.

Michal Nowakowski, Senior Vice President of Business Development at CD Project Red, also approaches the deal hopefully:

Cyberpunk 2077 is our most ambitious project yet and we work hard every day to make it both a creative and a technological achievement. The Digital Scapes team is bursting with talent, experience and technical knowledge and I am sure the game will benefit from.

More people means more trouble.

Multiplayer in Cyberpunk 2077 – what are the chances?

Digital Scapes are developing a PvP multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077 – that’s a fact. So while we know for sure it will eventually make it to the game, we are yet to find out when. One thing is for sure – the singleplayer campaign comes first, and a post-release multiplayer may not even have too much in common with “Night City: Offline Edition”. For more, we will have to wait.
