EA Sports FC 24 Release Date and Gameplay Trailer [Update: Surprise on Switch]

During today's broadcast, the exact release date of EA Sports FC 24 was confirmed, and we also learned the price and content of the various editions of the game.

Update

Surprising news - EA Sports FC 24 on Switch will be a full-fledged release of the game powered by the Frostbite engine. The whole thing will, of course, be visually adapted to the capabilities of Nintendo's console, although in terms of content it will be no different from the version for Sony and Microsoft consoles or PC.

As announced earlier, today there was a broadcast dedicated to EA Sports FC 24. It revealed the release date of the game - September 29 (this confirmed earlier leaks) - which is heading to PC, PS5, XSX/S, PS4, XOne and Switch. Seven days earlier, i.e. on September 22, access to the game will be granted to those who choose to pre-order the Ultimate Edition.

New trailer and a handful of information

We also saw a new two-minute trailer (below). There is very little actual gameplay on it - literally a second of the match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur was presented (at 1:19).

As a sidenote: during the event the devs also announced FC Tactical - a F2P mobile strategy game, in which matches will be played in a turn-based system. Other than that, not much else is known about this item.

During the broadcast, we learned that EA Sports FC 24 will feature the UEFA Women's Champions League, including two new women's leagues: the German and Spanish. In addition, Ultimate Team Evolutions mode will come to the game, where for the first time in the series it will be possible to "upgrade" players. The feature will also enable you to change the appearance of a player's card.

Play Styles is another new feature, allowing players to be assigned specific styles of play. Also highlighted at the show was that the game's engine - Frostbite - has received an overhaul.

In addition, in EA Sports FC 24 we will get the possibility of cross-play in clubs, co-op seasons, Volta Football mode and Ultimate Team co-op, among others. Cross-play will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and separately on PS4 and Xbox One.

Game editions and pricing

Today we also learned about the prices of the different editions EA Sports FC 24 and their contents. The basic game costs $69.99 The Ultimate edition costs$99.99. The truncated game on Nintendo Switch, meanwhile, costs $59.99. It's worth mentioning that EA Play subscribers can count on a 10 percent discount.

If you buy the basic game before September 29, you will receive:

cover star Erling Braut Haaland for loan (for 10 games);
two ambassadors of your choice for loan;
unlocked space for Clubs' playing styles;
additional player personality points in the player's career;
a 5-star coach available for hire in the manager's career.

For purchasing the Ultimate edition of the game before August 22, you will additionally receive:

a non-exchangeable UEFA Champions League Hero or UEFA Women's Champions League Hero card in Ultimate Team;
4600 FC Points;
access to the Nike campaign in Ultimate Team;
a player from the Nike Ultimate Team campaign on loan (for 24 matches);
Nike x EA Sports FC Ultimate Team outfit;
a non-exchangeable player from Ultimate Team Week 1.

EA Sports FC 24 will come out for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
