The Gutamaya Corsair is a pirate’s best friend in Elite Dangerous. It’s the ultimate hunter (once you pay for it).
As promised in the 2025 roadmap, Frontier rolled out the Gutamaya Corsair update in Elite Dangerous on Tuesday, April 8. It’s the successor to the Imperial Clipper, but not everyone can get their hands on it just yet. While some players aren’t totally sold on the design, it’s shaping up to be a solid ship with great firepower, massive cargo space, and an impressive jump range.
The Gutamaya Corsair is a medium-sized, multipurpose ship that you can only buy with ARX (the game’s premium currency) for now. It comes in two versions: the Standard edition for 16,520 ARX and the Stellar edition for 33,000 ARX. So yeah, if you want it right away, you’ll need to spend real money.
It’ll eventually be available for in-game credits after a few months, and there’s no Imperial Navy rank requirement – so once it’s up for credits, anyone can grab it.
The Gutamaya Corsair is labeled as a multi-role ship, meaning it’s good at pretty much everything, but it really shines as a dedicated hunter. Sure, it’s yet another ship that looks like a bird, but at least it's a laser-shooting pirate bird. Those who’ve had a go with it say its on-rails handling and low drift make it ideal at locking onto targets, giving chase, and, well, “reallocating” their cargo. With a bit of engineering and a decent fuel scoop, it can boost up to around 600 m/s – definitely built for the chase.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
