What is Green Rain in Stardew Valley 1.6

Green Rain in Stardew Valley is a rare weather event introduced in the 1.6 update. It might seem acidic, but it’s actually beneficial for the whole valley. The day before it occurs, the Weather Report on TV will forecast an upcoming anomaly.

During Green Rain, strange looking trees will sprout in large quantities throughout the valley, with the exception of Ginger Island and Calico Desert. However, they will disappear on the next day.

On a green, rainy day, most of the villagers will hide in the tavern, scared of the peculiar phenomena. You won’t find The Old Mariner on the beach during that day.

How to Get Moss and Fiddlehead Fern in Stardew Valley 1.6

Moss is a new resource in Stardew Valley, added in 1.6 update, that can randomly appear on trees. It can be removed and collected using a sword or any tool, without the need to cut down the entire tree. During Green Rain weather event, Moss will cover most of the trees and can even be spotted on some weeds.

All crafting and cooking recipes that require Moss:

  1. Speed-Gro
  2. Mushroom Log
  3. Statue of Blessing
  4. Deluxe Worm Bin
  5. Deluxe Bait
  6. Moss Soup

Fiddlehead Fern is a well-known vegetable in Stardew Valley. It cannot be grown on your farm and is most commonly found by foraging in the Secret Woods during Summer. You can also get it occasionally in the deeper levels of the Skull Cavern and Dangerous Mines or in the Ginger Island Jungle. During Green Rain, Fiddlehead Fern can be found across forested areas , so it’s a perfect opportunity to stock up on this ingredient.
