Stardew Valley’s new 1.6 update is finally here for PC players, with console and mobile versions coming soon. It brings a ton of new content and changes. Multiple pets, new festivals and some cool cozy winter outfits are just the beginning. The new Meadowlands Farm will let you focus more on animals right from the start, featuring special Blue Grass. Read on, if you want to know more.
The Meadowlands farm, introduced in Stardew Valley’s latest 1.6 update, is an animal focused farm, making it a dream come true for every aspiring rancher. While it offers less space for growing crops, it provides some nice bonuses from the start. You can now begin your farming adventure with a small Coop and 2 Chickens. Instead of Turnip seeds, you receive 15 Hay.
The new farm layout might surprise you with its size. While 3 ponds, a flowing river, and some elevated areas at the top take up the space, it makes up for it with a very cool feature – Blue Grass.
The new Blue Grass raise the heart levels of your livestock twice as quickly, resulting in a faster production of high-quality items. It grows naturally on Meadowlands Farm but there’s another method to acquire it. Blue Grass Starter Recipe can be purchased at Qi’s Walnut Room on the Ginger Island. Once planted, Blue Grass, much like the regular type, will gradually expand to adjacent tiles across the farm.
To get Blue Syrup for Blue Grass Starter you need to unlock new types of tree seeds, available after mastering Foraging skill. Placing a Tapper on these trees allows you to extract Blue Syrup from them.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
