Are you looking for a way to get more chickens in Medieval Dynasty, but you don’t want to or can’t afford to buy new animals, a good solution is to breed them. But how exactly do you do that? We explain below.

Everything about Chicken Breeding in Medieval Dynasty

The basic requirements to breed livestock in Medieval Dynasty are:

  1. Getting two adult animals of the same species (male and female),
  2. Assigning the animals you want to breed to one building.

The same applies to chickens. In case you aren’t sure how to obtain these birds in the new map, Oxbow, check out our guide for the location.

At the start of each season, there is a 15% chance per a male in the building for the chickens to breed (that is true for most animals except horses and donkeys, as they have 20%). You can increase your chances by getting more males, but keep in mind that only hens can lay eggs. If you fill your chicken coop with roosters and only one hen, you will be at a disadvantage when it comes to production.

You do not need to have a worker assigned to the building where the animals are, or feed them, in order for livestock to breed. However, that is necessary if you want to get products from your animals. That includes eggs which chickens lay.

Many players are wondering if gathering eggs from the coop will interfere with chickens breeding. Luckily, that is not the case. You can collect eggs from your chickens without worry and it will not stop them from breeding.
