Forced Login to New Doom Ports Will Soon be Optional

The need to log in to the new Doom ports through Bethesda's website has angered mobile gaming fans, as they are unable to enjoy the games without an internet connection.

The original Doom can be played even on a phone.

Two days ago id Softaware and Bethesda decided to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Doom franchise and on this occasion the first three installments of the game were released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Two of them have also been ported to mobile devices. Fans of gaming on the road were happy only for a moment, because it turned out that in order to run any of the games you need to have an internet connection. When you launch the games, you need to log in to your Bethesda.net account, which provides players with Slayer Club bonuses.

Fans' dissatisfaction has not escaped Bethesda's attention, who admitted that logging in at the start of the game should be completely optional. The company also said that work is already underway to introduce this as optional feature into recently released ports.

Logging in should be optional and we are already working on changing this option.

No wonder that Bethesda wants to force logging in to her own social media, it's also part of their big business structure. However, in the case of portable devices it is definitely a shot in the foot.
