Forza Horizon 5 PC Minimum System Requirements

Microsoft and Playground Games announced Forza Horizon 5 yesterday. Now we know the minimum system requirements for the PC version of the new installment of the popular racing game series. They include ray tracing.

Forza Horizon 5 was one of the novelties shown on the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase presentation, although it can hardly be called a big surprise. Many players expected an official announcement of the new racing game from Playground Games, in which we go to Mexico. The next day of the E3 show brought new information about the game. The game's page on Steam revealed the minimum system requirements, which are almost identical to those of Forza Horizon 4:

Forza Horizon 5 PC - minimum system requirements

  • Processor: Intel Core i3-4170 3.7 GHz or Intel i5-750 2.66 GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti or AMD Radeon R7 250X
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit (version 15063 or later)
  • Disk space: 80 GB

Unfortunately, we did not learn the recommended requirements of Forza Horizon 5 but they may be noticeably higher than in the case of the previous game. The reason is simple. will offer a lot of changes in graphics: A new volumetric lighting system, significantly improved dynamic weather effects, significantly increased drawing range of objects and high quality textures, for the creation of which photogrammetric images in 12K resolution were used. There will even be ray tracing (also on next-gen consoles), but unfortunately this will only make its way into the Forzavista mode, which is a more visually pleasing way to view cars.

On the Xbox Series X we'll be able to play in 4K resolution at 30 fps, while the weaker Xbox Series S will allow for 1080p and 30 fps.. Both consoles will offer a performance mode with 60 fps (with probably lower and / or dynamic resolution, but this information was not specified). There will also be support for HDR.

Forza Horizon 5 is scheduled for release on November 9, 2021. The target hardware platforms are PC and Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game will hit the Xbox Game Pass service on the release date.
