Great Year Ahead for Rainbow Six: Siege; Ubisoft Reveals New Roadmap

Ubisoft presented plans for the further development of Rainbow Six: Siege. The seventh year of support will introduce many new features.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Seventh year of support for Rainbow Six: Siege will introduce four new operators and three maps;
  • The game will also feature a shooting range and a permanent arcade mode, and ranked games will see some changes;
  • The developers will also try to step up fighting toxic behavior of players.

Rainbow Six: Siege is several years old at this point, but still enjoys significant popularity. Promptly, it should come as no surprise that Ubisosft does not stop supporting the game.

French developers have shared information about the new features that will hit the game during the seventh year of support. New operators, maps and a complex system of counteracting toxic behavior will wait for the fans.

New operators and maps

Seventh year of support for Rainbow Six: Siege was divided in the traditional four seasons. Each of them will be associated with specific innovations.

  • Season 1: Azami - a defensive operator from Japan, as well as a new map covering the grounds of an exclusive club in Ireland. Team Deathmatch mode will also be permanently added to the game.
  • Season 2: An operator from Belgium and a new map set in Greece and designed for the Team Deathmatch mode.
  • Season 3: An operator from Singapore and a new map that unfortunately we don't know anything about yet.
  • Season 4: An operator from Colombia.

Shooting range and changes to ranked games

In addition to operators and maps, each season will provide other new features. Above all, we are talking about the shooting gallery, which will be added to the game at the start of the second season. You will be able to check which weapon fits your style of play.

Season three, on the other hand, will introduce changes to the ranked games. Players will no longer have to take part in ten matches that will determine their skill level.

Instead, everyone will start from the lowest possible level. After that, they will move up in the rankings in subsequent games.

Season four will introduce a permanent Arcade mode. Its variant will be changed every week.

Reputation system

The developers have also assured that it is important for them that players enjoy a game devoid of toxic behavior. The development of an extensive reputation system is to help achieve this vision.

This mechanism is to be improved over the four seasons. At the beginning, the creators will try to increase the effectiveness of the detection of griefing and intentional disconnection, which spoils the gameplay of other players.

Season two will introduce a new punishment system for players who repeatedly make life miserable for others by shooting at their allies. These individuals will have to deal with reverse friendly fire, which will apply for more than one game.

Season three will allow for the reporting of toxic behavior of players while watching replays. A reputation point system will also be added to the game. Based on it in season four, the developers will begin to give penalties and rewards.

Of course, each new season will be associated with many changes in the balance and updates aimed at eliminating bugs.

Even without taking them into account, however, it's easy to see that this is going to be a really good and novelty-filled year for fans of Rainbow Six: Siege.
