As announced - I mentioned this when informing you about Path of Exile 2's system requirements - one of the games that got a presentation at today's PC Gaming Show is Homeworld 3, the third major installment in the popular science fiction RTS series. Studio Blackbird Interactive has demonstrated a gameplay trailer, accompanied by commentary from the developers, including Rob Cunningham (the company's co-founder and current CEO) and Lance Mueller (the game's director).

Above all, however, the following footage reveals what all strategy fans have been waiting for - the release date of Homeworld 3. The title will be released on PC on March 8, 2024.

With the announcement of this information, preorders were made possible. On Steam the standard version of the game costs $59.99. Two more expensive editions are available - Deluxe and Fleet Command, priced at $79.99 and PLN $89.99, respectively. The former includes - in addition to the base game - a one-year season pass, while the latter also offers digital extras (soundtrack, etc.) and the opportunity to start playing 72 hours before the release.

The words of the aforementioned Rob Cunningham seem worth quoting. He stated that Homeworld 3 represents, in fact, the creators' dream vision of the second game, which was impossible to achieve with the technology available at the turn of the century (Homeworld 2 came out in 2003). Let's hope, then, that the game will prove worth the wait of two decades.
