Homeworld 3 Release Date PC
Homeworld 3 is the third installment of the popular space RTS series, launched in 1999. It was developed by Blackbird Interactive, producers of the warmly welcomed spin-off Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, and published by Gearbox Publishing.
Homeworld 3 is set after the events presented in the second installment of the series. Thanks to a network of hyperspace gates, the galaxy was regularly plunged into conflict, but each war was followed by a period of peace and prosperity. However, when these gates start to fail, many see their only chance for salvation in Karan, who is held in almost divine reverence.
In Homeworld 3 we take control over a fleet of interstellar ships, which we lead into battles with enemy forces. Skirmishes take place in 3D environments, but rarely do we have to deal with empty interstellar space. Much more often we have to fight surrounded by giant megaliths which are the remains of an ancient civilization. The presence of these wrecks can be used to your advantage, using them as shields for your units or setting traps for your opponents among them.
Besides, while working out the tactics for subsequent battles, we should take into account the specifics of our fleet. Among the ships given to us we'll find both powerful cruisers and smaller, but at the same time more agile strike fighters. With the right forces at our disposal we can launch frontal attacks, attack from the flanks and also maneuver in such a way as to surprise the enemy with attacks from above or below.
Enemies are not the only threat that awaits us in space. Dangers include large particle storms or asteroid fields that require very careful maneuvering.
Homeworld 3 has an extensive story campaign. In addition, the title offers a cooperative mode, which is enriched with roguelike elements, as well as a PvP module, which allows for one-on-one battles and large team battles.
Homeworld 3 feature high quality graphics. It uses the characteristic style of the series and picturesque nebulae and galaxies often constitute the background for our actions. In addition to realistic lighting, damage to ships draws attention. The advanced physics engine takes care of the missiles' behavior.
