Every ship counts in Homeworld 3. However, sometimes resources or other vessels count even more. Let’s learn how to destroy units.
Homeworld 3 in some respects is a reminiscent of old-school games. While it introduces you to the basic mechanics flawlessly, you may miss some features altogether. Disbanding units is one of such options. At first glance you can’t do it. However, if you are inquisitive enough, it is possible to stumble upon the “Retire” button, which will allow you to disband your own ships and you will get back your resources.
Disbanding units may be useful. The game features finite resources and there is a unit cap. At some point you may want to adjust your army to face your opponents better and build different ships. However, the option to disband units is hidden pretty well, but it is there.
First of all, you can’t destroy your own ships during tactical pause, as the proper menu does not appear in this mode. Remembering that, do the following steps to disband army and retrieve resources:
By doing the above, your vessels will fly to the Mothership and will be scrapped for resources.
