How to Fix Infinite (Long) Loading Times in Fallout London

It is amazing how well the Fallout series has been faring lately. Not only did it receive a TV show that increased its popularity tremendously but just recently, after a lot of struggles partially connected to official next gen updates, a huge modification has been released. Fallout London, because it is the mod in question, is based on Fallout 4 and shows how devoted community this post-apocalyptic world has. Of course, making such a big alteration to a title is very complex, so we shouldn’t be surprised that there are some technical difficulties here and there, like in case of train ride crash. Here we will explore possibilities of fixing infinite, or simply long, loading times in this amazing mod.

Infinite loading times in Fallout London fix

Fallout London is an astonishing project which otherwise could be a game on its own, or at least a DLC. The sheer size of the files that we have to download shows that it is no mere alteration of Fallout 4, but a whole new world. With how vast the modification is, problems are to be expected. Many players report issues with long loading times. If you are one of them, do not worry as there is something that can be done about it.

There are several things that can affect performance of this mod:

1. First and foremost, make sure that you are using the correct version of F4SE (Fallout 4 Scripting Engine) that ships with Fallout London – 1.10.163.0. Versions which are newer were released after Fallout 4 next gen update and have potential of malfunctioning in connection with the mod.
2. Why not try fixing a modification with another modification? There is one, simply called Long Loading Times Fix. Many people report that it works perfectly fine in their instance. Also be careful which version you download, as you need to get the one supporting 1.10.163.0 version of F4SE. It is conveniently labeled “London” instead of “Next Gen” on the download page.
3. With how the main game is built, it is important to pay attention to framerate. It cannot be too high, as it tends to break many, many things. You can try limiting the FPS to 120 and if that does not help, further restrict them to 60.

As mods can offer additional content for our beloved games, they do require more maintenance as they are prepared by a group (or even single) of dedicated fans, who most of the time work for free. Due to that, it is hard to imagine the modders addressing this issue quickly or at all.
