Wise Old Man is an NPC in RuneScape Dragonwilds. Unfortunately, this character is bugged for some players. So, we will teach you how to fix him.
The technical state of modern games is a topic for a thesis. Most of them have many irritating bugs at launch. The new survival set in the RuneScape universe – Dragonwilds – isn’t an exception. Players report crashes at launch. Unfortunately, that’s not all. Some people noticed also gameplay-related issues, like strangely low gem drop ratio. Luckily, there are no game breaking issues, am I right? Well… that’s not entirely true. Some users have a big problem with missing Wise Old Man. So, today we are going to talk about how to make this character reappear.
Wise Old Man is a well-known character in classic RuneScape. So, it’s not a surprise that in RuneScape Dragonwilds developers implemented this adventurer. He is also closely related to the main plot. You will find him for the first time in the temple a few steps from the starting point.
Later in the game, Wise Old Man changes moves to another place. So, you must follow the road from Temple Woods to the river. After crossing the bridge, turn the first major turn to the right in the village. This NPC stands at the top of the ruins which look like the church. You have to climb the stairs. Unfortunately, this character is bugged and sometimes he gets stuck in the starting location. This will block your progress.
However, one of the players found a solution to this problem. It requires modifying game files, so you do this at your own risk. Also remember to back up (make a copy of) the original files.

Hopefully, it will work, as it helped some other players. Good luck.
