Smalland Survive the Wilds is a new survival. The title is in early access; however, thousands of fans do not wait for the full release and play it everyday. The game is quite unique because of the setting. Players discover secrets of the forest from an interesting perspective – you become very small. People who like the game Grounded or movie Arthur and the Invisibles should try this title. In this guide we will tell you where to find Clay (an important resource) and how to make Clay Mortal.
How to get Clay in Smalland
First of all, you have to go South. To find Clay, it is necessary to cross “the sea” and go to the separate part of the map. We presented an easy access point to that place on the map above (black circle).
You can get some Clay on the beach; however, we recommend going into the forest a little bit. There are many points where you can get Clay in the region we presented above (red circle). To extract it you need a Spike Pickaxe or better.
You have to watch out, though. Clay is in the region with dangerous enemies. You can meet there Grasshoppers and Geckoes easily.
Clay is a very important resource. For example, you can use it to build Clay Mortal, which is a higher-grade building material.
How to make Clay Mortal in Smalland
To make Clay Mortal, you need to process:
- Clay x2
- Bug’s Lymph
The first ingredient is described in the previous section of the article. You can find Lymph by killing some insects – for example ants. You can also gather it from time to time, as bugs sometimes fight with each other (but it is quite rare).
However, to make Clay Mortal it is necessary to construct a Windmill.

- Refined Wood x10,

Before you will get an opportunity to use this crafting table, it is necessary to construct Stonecutter, Loom and Tannery.
