How to reach a planet center in Astroneer?
Players are free to explore the planets they are on, however, getting to the center of the planet can be a bit of a hassle. There is, however, an easy and quick way to get there. The requirement is to have a tractor and drill strength 3, which will enable you to break through any terrain. Put drill strength 3 in the tractor and start heading deep into the planet.. You will have to dig through everything that gets in your way until you see a location with purple pillars.
It's worth taking the packager with you to hide the drill strength 3 once you are in the center of the planet. It is quite an expensive item and is worth saving for further travels.
Powering up Gateway Chambers
Before you can move deep into the planet, you must first have a specific level of units of power per second. This is needed to activate Gateway Chambers. This facility has 3 platforms, resembling inverted pyramids, to which you must supply the right amount of power for 30 seconds. If you fail to do so, the Gateway Engine will become inaccessible duea to a barrier blocking it. Below is how much units of power per second you neet to get into the core:
- Sylva - 5 units of power per second
- Desolo - 8 units of power per second
- Calidor - 12 units of power per second
- Vesania - 16 units of power per second
- Novus - 21 units of power per second
- Glacio - 26 units of power per second
- Atrox - 30 units of power per second
To get required units of power, it is useful to create an object called an RTG. This is your source of power, which produces 4 units per second.
Planet center in Astroneer
Each planet in the game has its own center, and in it - structures called Gateway Engines, which form the core. This is a location where there are quite a few pillars. It is worth mentioning that gravity works differently there than on the surface. In the interior there are also platforms on which you need to put a unique item, which is different for each planet.:

When you do this, you will receive the item called Geometric Triptych. By putting it into the Gateway Engine, you will discover Odd Stone.
After interacting with the Odd Stone, all Gateway Chambers that you have activated and are on the surface of the planet will become teleportation points. It is also possible to move quickly to the satellite.
