Hyper Light Breaker - Sequel to Action RPG Hyper Light Drifter Announced

Hyper Light Breaker, the sequel to the action RPG Hyper Light Drifter, has been announced. Compared to the original, we will get, among other things, three-dimensional graphics and a co-op mode.

Heart Machine Studio announced Hyper Light Breaker, a sequel to the popular action RPG Hyper Light Drifter from 2016.

  1. For now, only the PC version has been confirmed.
  2. Hyper Light Breaker will debut in early access in spring next year.
  3. The game will be sold on Steam.
  4. In contrast to the pixelart original, Hyper Light Breaker will offer full 3D - both in terms of visuals and freedom of exploration.
  5. Another big novelty will be the addition of online co-op mode. However, there will also be a single player mode.
  6. The game will be published by Gearbox Publishing.

In terms of plot Hyper Light Breaker is meant to be a new story, set, however, in the same world as Hyper Light Drifter. The knowledge of the original will not be necessary to play.

The devs promise a huge colorful world, which will consist of both large biomes with an open structure and numerous dungeons.

During the game we'll be able to perform various stunts, such as running on walls, and use handy gadgets, including a hang glider and a levitating board.

Between missions we'll return to the village, which will be expanded along with the progress in the game. New characters and structure upgrades will appear in it in time.

Hyper Light Drifter debuted in May 2016 on PC, but over time it was also ported to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Therefore, we expect that Hyper Light Breaker will also come to consoles at a later date.
