Instead of the desert in Dune Awakening, many players see connection lost generic or H 74. Developers investigate network errors after the last update
Have you seen Connection Lost Generic or H 74 issue while trying to explore Arrakis in Dune Awakening? It's a known issue that the developers are working on. Here you will find more context about this problem, as well as a workaround.

Who doesn’t love updates? They add a lot of new features, fix bugs, change UI, rearrange things, break other elements… This quickly took a wrong turn. At some point, everyone at least once encountered an update that rendered a well working piece of software to an unusable mess. Of course, games are not free of this problem. The most recent example can be Dune Awakening, where 1.1.10.00 update makes a group of players encounter a “Connection Lost Generic” or mysterious “H 74” message. What is going on and is there any workaround for this? What do the developers have to say about this matter? Let’s try to answer all of those questions.
Connection Lost Generic and H 74 error message in Dune Awakening explained
Despite being an amazing game that lets us explore the world of Arrakis, Dune Awakening isn’t a flawless title. We have already seen connection issues in this production not long ago, and now we bear witness to another batch of network related problems in the form of “Connection Lost Generic,” as well as “H 74” error messages. Both prevent players from enjoying the exploration of Dune.
While it appears that the challenges we are facing are on the servers’ side and there isn’t much we can do, it doesn’t stop faithful fans from trying. In one of Steam Community Hub threads, we can find information submitted by a player who shared a workaround for the trouble. To attempt successful connection to the game, you should try joining another sietch in your server’s world. However, it has been discovered that it works only till the first death of your avatar.
The method described above has also been confirmed by the developers in one of their posts on production’s official Discord server.
[…] you can work around it by logging into a different Sietch, traveling to Griffin's Reach, logging out, waiting 60 seconds, and logging back into your original Sietch.
They have specified that this issue affects only a limited number of fans who log into the Hagga Basin servers. The creators have also confirmed that the challenges that those players are facing are limited to spawn points located in the northern regions. Of course, they have reassured that they are actively working on resolving this problem completely and they will release the update soon, so to stay updated on the current situation, the best idea is to keep an eye out on “service-alerts” channel on the aforementioned Discord server or checking out their X account as well as “Known issues” tread on Steam regularly. Let’s hope that the fix won’t bring more issues, like it was in the case of dupe glitch.
Regardless, this situation can be frustrating for a lot of dedicated fans, some of which decided to ditch other games like Destiny 2, as it’s easy to completely sink into the world that Funcom has brought to life. It isn’t surprising, since the universe created by Frank Herbert is universally praised. When the server problems are sorted out, don’t forget to get your thermoelectric coolers and explore the wreck of the Hephaestus. Be careful about PvP content, though, as many combatants are quite… jumpy. Have fun!
