Steam is a chaotic place. Once in a while, inconspicuous indie games appear on the platform and become instant hits. Recently, for example, this was the case with a puzzle adventure called Blue Prince. Earlier, however, REPO caught the interest of people. This horror gathered over 271,000 players at its peak on Steam (via SteamDB). This success caused scams mimicking the original to start appearing on other platforms. Not so long ago, we warned you about some rip-offs from PS Store. However, another shady clone has appeared. This time on Nintendo Switch.

Is REPO on Switch legit?

Yesterday, on the official Nintendo Store, R.E.P.O Horror appeared. This piece of code was created by BoggySoft (creative name, isn’t it?). This developer has a really long history dating back to April 18, 2025. On that day, they released their debut production ONLY UP! Yep, they released two games in a week. The interesting part is that, believe it or not, there is already a game with the same title, and it was released on Steam over a year ago but by MoreMoto Games. It was poorly received; however, screens of both productions look quite similar.

As you might expect, BoggySoft didn’t create the original REPO. Semiwork is responsible for this Steam hit. To this day, they didn’t confirmed console ports. In one of the statements, devs informed that they will look into it when the game gets 1.0 patch. It’s not a surprise. The production is still in early access, so creators' priority is finishing it.

On the official REPO Discord server, many people drew attention to this shady title, which is blatantly trying to make profit from the unawareness of players. So, information has already reached the developers of the original game. Let’s hope that this rip-off will disappear from Nintendo Switch soon. Exactly like its equivalent from PlayStation Store.

Indie games aren’t the only target of these types of scams. When Microsoft announced that so far exclusive Forza Horizon 5 will be released on PS5, some scammers decided to exploit the chaos and create game that looks similar to another big Xbox title – Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
