The much-loved fantasy series about the Winchester brothers who hunt supernatural creatures has enjoyed tremendous popularity over the years, which ensured that it remained on the air for as many as 15 seasons. This shows how successful the CW production has been, which is still eagerly watched by viewers today. A big part of this is due to the fact that Supernatural is on Netflix, so many viewers have access to it.
Will Supernatural be removed from Netflix?
Recently, however, word has begun to spread that the CW series is to disappear from the streaming giant's library. Is this true? Although nothing is carved in stone, it looks like Supernatural will leave Netflix on December 18, 2025.
What is the reason for this? In 2011, The CW signed a deal with Netflix to bring their productions exclusively to the platform. The cooperation was a success for both parties, so it was no surprise that the contract was renewed in 2016. However, in 2019 there was a change, the CW then decided not to renew the contract.
Nonetheless, Netflix still has the rights to stream CW productions that are on its platform for five years after the final season. In the case of Supernatural, that means this year marks five years, as the final season was added on Netflix in 2020. The situation is similar for The 100 and Arrow.
Where to watch Supernatural after it leaves Netflix?
It remains to be seen whether Netflix will fight to keep Supernatural on its platform, or whether fans will have to look elsewhere to watch the series in December 2025. At this point, it's impossible to guess which streaming service will become Supernatural's new home. However, there are other options for watching the series that may be available in 2026.
