Sony Interactive Entertainment has taken under its wing a newly formed independent team, Haven Entertainment Studios. The announcement (via the official PlayStation blog ) was made by Haven's founder and CEO Jade Raymond.

"I’m announcing Haven, an independent studio where many of the talented game developers I have worked with for years (and love dearly!) are coming together to do what we are most passionate about. It’s time for us to refocus on GAMES in a place where we can practice our crafts without any barriers or impediments.

We want to create worlds where players can escape, have fun, express themselves, and find community.[...] We want to make something wondrous for people to experience. Because we believe in the power of games to bring joy to people’s lives. And Sony does, too. Their commitment to excellence is unmatched. It’s why I couldn’t be happier for their backing and support."

Jade Raymond has been working in the video game industry for 25 years, so we're not talking about an untried indie studio here. The developer can boast of experience in companies such as Ubisoft (founder of the Toronto branch) or Motive Studios belonging to Electronic Arts (founder).

Haven Entertainment Studios is currently working on an untitled project aiming at PlayStation release, but we'll probably have to wait a bit longer for any details. Possible announcements will probably be posted on the company's website, to which you can find a link below.

His adventure with journalism began with a personal blog, the name of which is no longer worth quoting. Then he interpreted Iranian dramas and the Joker, writing for cinematography journal, which, sadly, no longer exists. His writing credentials include a degree in film studies, but his thesis was strictly devoted to video games. He has been writing for Gamepressure since March 2020, first writing a lot about movies, then in the newsroom, and eventually, he became a specialist in everything. He currently edits and writes articles and features. A long-time enthusiast of the most bizarre indie games and arthouse cinema. He idolizes surrealism and postmodernism. He appreciates the power of absurdity. Which is probably why he also tried soccer refereeing for 2 years (with so-so results). He tends to over-philosophize, so watch out.
