John Carpenter's Opinion on The Last of Us TV

John Carpenter is an acclaimed creator of cult horror movies. The experienced director is responsible for such productions as Halloween, The Thing or They Live, so it's no surprise that the industry respects his opinion. This time Carpenter, in an interview with Comicbook, shared his feelings about this year's hottest adaptation - The Last of Us TV series.

In the interview, the director was clear and stressed that he is a big fan of Naughty Dog's games. He described the show as "wonderful" and revealed that he is looking forward to the release of the second season. What's more, the director isn't the least bit worried about possible deviations from the source material, as, in his opinion, the episodic show is a phenomenal stand-alone work.

Fans might suspect that because of his love for The Last of Us the director would be eager to help create a second season. Carpenter, however, made things clear, saying: "No, I want to watch it. I don't want to work on it."

Let's hope that the second season of The Last of Us will also succeed and delight the fans - including John Carpenter. This will probably happen if the series retains its strongest aspects, namely its distinctive characters and story. However, to find out how the creators will handle the adaptation of the events of the second, controversial part of the game series, we will have to wait a little longer.
